Truly, the interweb will not be perfected until you can scan a bowl of that divine substance and PM it to me. Some idiot at work brought in some sort of spattergroit or exploding mung or flu. I've been sick for two days, and my throat is sore. Some of that ice cream would be just perfect!

I also like the pink peppermint ice cream with the little red and green candy bits in it. Still, my all-time fave is my parents homemade peach--it helps when they bring the peaches back from a Georgia farmer's market. Jummmm!

Happy Birthday!!!!!
Oh, I'll have to try this soon. I find it odd that there seems to be no peppermint stick ice cream around this region at Christmas, and so I sometimes make it on that day. So I'll use this recipe only put in my crushed peppermint pieces instead of the chocolate. :-)

Only I'm wondering why you use milk and half & half instead of just half & half?
It's what the recipe called for- although I personally think that one cup of milk and one of cream would be fine instead. My husband really likes the recipe, though. so I follow it for him. :)
I have a mind to use all half & half and then the cream, actually, and it's most economical to buy those in quarts at Costco, but that's sort of what I was thinking, that if you mix whole milk with cream, you kind of have half & half there. :-)

I don't quite know how I missed your birthday, other than yesterday left me little time for Vox-visiting. I hope you have a wonderful new year.
Don't feel bad about missing the birthday! This is an insanely busy time of year. I'm lucky if I remember my birthday!
That...sounds...marvelous!!

Your birthday? Awesome! Belated happy birthday!

Thanks for sharing the recipe. This is my favorite kind of ice cream!

Happy birthday! I favorited this. It might be just the thing to get me to dig the ice cream maker out of storage.
