I have Tom Wait's entire discography on my computer.
Depending on who you are, that may impress you, mean nothing to you, or tell you some very interesting things about me. In any case, this song is currently fueling my yoga efforts, and most of the songs on Mule Variations are about to fuel my writing attempts.
I'm always amused by what drives my writing. I find that either I want to be listening to nothing at all, or certain music tends to trigger certain kinds of scenes. Lately I haven't been listening to much of anything at all. Then, while I was at my parent's house I saw a car commercial and recognized the song. It was by this guy, Denison Whitmer:
I love this guy, and we've owned this album for several years. I was so psyched to hear his music at all, and then I found myself listening to it over and over while writing. This confused the [redacted] out of me, because every time I've written my current storyline I've tended towards harder, generally angrier music. I like a lot of Project 86, Stavesacre, Radiohead, a little bit of Brandston here and there or something heavier like... oh, I don't know, Metallica, sometimes? I'm very confused when it comes to music. So, because I know you all care (ha!) here's what I was listening to prior to the Denison Whitmer obsession:
