My pocket-size Savior, of course.
Show us what makes you a die-hard fan.
If I were equipped with a harness, an engine, a battery, and some rotating blades I could be a fan.
Plus, the tags say "sports". Aside from having a love affair with the Chivas after living in Mexico, I'm less than impressed by most sports. Although, I have to admit, I'm absolutely nuts for mixed martial arts and the Ultimate Fighting Championship in particular. I would gladly have Randy Couture's babies. Or, maybe Georges St. Pierres babies. Or, crap, I'd love to have Matt Serra's babies too.
Or just feel their biceps. Oh. My. God.
For the record, this doesn't mean that I want to have sex with them or even have a relationship with them. I think all of them are married now. I hope their wives don't mind if I just, you know, steal their babies.
As for what makes me a fan, well... I've been in a few fights. Mostly just blowing off steam, although one in particular was very heartfelt. I know how hard it is to rationalize how to protect yourself, how to inflict damage, how to inflict damage without giving permanent injury and how to remember to keep your head tucked in, your stomach flattened, your shoulders forward and to not poke your butt out and throw yourself off balance. It is an art form. A really, really good match will have very little blood and a whole lot of, "look at the way he's leaning in and dominating that guy," as well as, "look at the way he's calculating," and, "oh my f*** did you see him just pick that guy up and THROW HIM AGAINST THE CAGE and that guy STILL kicked him in the face?"
It's impressive. Like dancing. With more gore.
I like dancing.
To illustrate my point, look at the above picture. St. Pierre (brown shorts) is leaning back and kicking towards Serra. Serra is crouching down so that the kick that was originally intended for his stomach will glance off his chest. He's leaning back slightly, as well as throwing out his arms to keep his balance. The positioning of his hand means that if he thinks quickly enough, he could grab St. Pierre's shin and either pull him in or knock him over.
All of this information must be processed by both of them in a period of seconds. They both have to calculate, anticipate and respond.

Has anyone been noticing the repetitive feel to the QoTDs and Vox Hunts? Anyone else notice that some of the [this is good] features really aren't that good?
Well, we have our voices! Our minds! Let's stop sniveling and whining on our own blogs and let's MARCH ON OUT THERE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Now, just in case you are sitting there thinking that you aren't an "idea guy"- let's come up with some ideas and share amongst each other. I've already submitted a QoTD asking what someone's fantasy meal would be, and a Vox Hunt asking for pictures of said fantasy foods. What are some other ideas? How about clothes? Questions like:
Where did you get your favorite jeans?
Do you have a "power outfit?"
Have you ever dressed yourself ugly on purpose?
What's your most embarrassing fashion moment?
And that's just scraping the top of the barrel. Any of those could be subtly changed to make great Vox Hunts.
Then there's politics, and religion. How about questions like:
Would you make a good public servant?
Do you have a friend you would vote into office?
What government official do you want to fire?
Who is your favorite mythological figure?
If you could be transfigured into a religious figure, who would it be?
Now, I realize some of these questions I'm suggesting are downright horrible. But wait! There's more. For the Vox Hunt:
show us something that is your favorite color.
show us something you want to own.
show us someone crush worthy
show us something for which there are no words
And on, and on, and on. So, what questions are you dying to answer? Maybe it's something you've already written about on your blog. A loved one you've lost, a relative from way back you wish you could meet, a friend you've lost contact with, a movie you wish you could live in, something you want to express but struggle to find the words for... What are those great, brilliant nuggets that you just need a little prompting to pop out? Or- what are questions you are dying to ask your neighborhood but are just way too embarrassed to put words to? Put them in the QoTD. And- show your neighbors some love! Suggest them for [TiG]. (Says the girl who is mostly neighborhood only. Irony.)
suggest a QoTD
suggest a Vox Hunt
suggest a [this is good] feature.
Come on! It's our Vox! Let's show them what we've got!
